Google Docs are special icons that open in a web browser so you can edit Google Docs, Sheets & Slides on the web. Be careful: removing items may delete them from other people’s computers & devices. Collaborate with Shared Drives. When you add items to a shared drive, they’re shared with other people. Be selective about which files/folders you make available offline. Any changes you (or others) make will not be updated until you’re connected to the internet again. Choose Google Drive and Available Offline. Hold the Control key and click a folder inside your Google Drive. Need to access files when you don’t have internet? You can choose folders for offline-access. Files will be automatically downloaded when you open them, and uploaded when you save. Folders with a cloud icon are available as long as you’re online. You may also save files directly to Google Drive from any application – it’s a drive in the left side bar of open & save windows. Create folders inside and organize just like any drive. Copy files & folders to your Google Drive and they are uploaded. Your files are inside My Drive, which is in the Google Drive icon. If you have trouble, see Configuring the first time above.
Can’t find it? Click the Spotlight (magnifying glass icon) and search for Google Drive.
Click the Google Drive icon in the menu bar, desktop or sidebar. Google Drive is added to the desktop. You can also add it to the dock – just drag it from the desktop to the right side of the dock near the trash. Click the Google Drive icon in the top menu bar and sign into Google Drive with your email address and password. Now restart the computer and open Google Drive from Spotlight or Applications folder again. Was a system extension blocked? Click Open Security Preferences (or click the Apple menu, choose System Preferences and Security & Privacy). Open Google Drive from Spotlight or Applications folder (see above). Need to download Google Drive? Click this link to sign into your Google account and download. If you found it, open and skip to 3 below. Or click the Finder desktop, click the Go menu at the top of the screen and choose Applications. Click the Spotlight (magnifying glass icon) and search for Google Drive. Google Drive may already be installed on your computer. It’s a white triangle inside a dark square. If it’s there, skip to Accessing Files below. Look for Google Drive in your Mac’s top menu bar. Paste the content in the same spreadsheet. Create and collaborate on online spreadsheets in real-time and from any device. In a spreadsheet, copy the content you want to paste. You can format the content after you paste it. For example, if you copy a column of cells and use paste transpose, it will paste them into a row, and vice versa. Paste transposed: Pastes a rotated version of the copied cells. Paste conditional formatting only: Only applies conditional formatting rules to a range of cells. Paste data validation only: Pastes a data validation rule over a range of cells without changing existing formatting, formulas, or text. Paste formula only: Pastes the formulas contained in a copied range of cells, not the resulting calculations of the formulas. Paste column widths only: Resizes the selected columns to match the original.
Paste all except borders: Pastes everything except cell borders.Paste format only: This option is identical to using the paint format tool - it only copies cell formatting, and won't change existing text or formulas.Paste values only: Pastes only the text from the original range of cells.
Copy the data you want to paste and put your cursor in the cell you want to paste into.On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets.You can't copy cells from one spreadsheet and use paste special in a spreadsheet open in another tab. Paste special works only within a single spreadsheet. You can use paste special to decide which formatting gets copied when copying cells.
